PET PEACE OF MIND VOLUNTEER TRAINING

Aug 2, 9 & 16 (Tuesdays for three weeks) from 4-6 PM on Zoom

Do you have a big heart for animals? Are you looking to make a difference in your community?

Hospice SLO County is offering our Pet Peace of Mind Volunteer Training on Aug 2, 9 & 16 (Tuesdays for three weeks) from 4-6 PM on Zoom. A camera and audio (phone or microphone) are required to participate.

Hospice SLO County's Pet Peace of Mind training is offered free of charge. Donations are greatly appreciated. If you would like to help cover the costs of this training, please consider making a donation when you register.

Pet Peace of Mind is a national program dedicated to keeping humans and their beloved animals together through the end of life. As Pet Peace of Mind volunteers, participants will provide practical support, such as feeding, exercising, and grooming. Volunteers may have the opportunity to assist with fostering and adoptive services depending on interests.

In this training, you will learn about:

  • Elder pet needs
  • Basic hygiene and animal grooming
  • Safe pet handling and transporting
  • Hospice care
  • Anticipatory grief and bereavement
  • Supporting a pet through a difficult time in their lives

Governed by a nine member Board of Directors, Hospice SLO County has been providing uninterrupted services since 1977 and continues to rely 100% on community donations, fundraising events, grants and bequests.

Hospice of San Luis Obispo County envisions a community that recognizes death as a part of life; where dying and grieving are embraced as natural; where all have access to support services without charge; where no one dies or is left to grieve without comfort.
