Apply for our VIRTUAL and REMOTE volunteer position at ASSUAGED, a MAKERSPACE and growing charitable organic plant-based corporation that is disabled military veteran-owned.
We are a non-judgmental vegan brand advocating for Public Health.
There is a shortage of internship programs because most organizations do not spend time and money training students "hoping" that trainees can become equipped with the experience they need. According to the Harvard Business Review, it takes an average of six months to master a skill.
Our primary business model involves hosting and boasting students by helping them become more hirable to FIND A JOB. We have celebrity mentors that have helped us serve 500+ students to date.
We are INCLUSIVE of ALL PEOPLE regardless of age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status.
Volunteers can expect to work on a variety of projects pertinent to our mission but similar to other nonprofit voluntary organizations. Among these are content curation, SEO, public speaking, HR management, advocacy, program planning, communications planning/outreach, research, conference planning, fundraising, social media, chapter development, and administrative responsibilities/data entry.
We are in special need of video editing skills for the student live discussions.
You will learn and earn valuable educational resources and have access to one-on-one training and tools to help advance your skillsets. EDUCATION and KNOWLEDGE are the keys to success in today's modern world.
We need passionate individuals who will work closely with our team and other respected partners to assist with diverse charitable projects involving community health and chronic disease prevention that will fluctuate in timeframe and scale.
The purpose of this role is not only to help improve the health of the disability, military, elderly, ambulatory populations but also to provide the volunteer and students with valuable knowledge and experiences that will contribute to their educational and career ambitions.
We have an active team-player environment, and we provide access to some powerful toolsets, networks, and an education knowledge base. Working at Assuaged, you will gain valuable in-house learned skills that will stimulate your mind and advance your successes.
We treat people very well and ensure they have the best to succeed, which, in return, helps us succeed.
We are looking to build our family team - going beyond just the standards of corporations hiring for heads - we hire for hearts.
At Assuaged, you'll always feel like an equal. If it feels right in your heart, please do apply.
THE STORY >>
Inspired by life changes, the Murphys embarked on a journey to help people by building impactful change through wellness.
Both endured multiple illnesses and sought out themselves to find a cure by using herbs and plant-based foods.
Thane is a disabled USMC veteran who suffers from PTSD incurred by a severe Traumatic-Brain Injury during his service. He’s experienced invasive and debilitating skin rashes since childhood and was diagnosed as severely obese and pre-diabetic. Since then, he’s found a cure through diet and nutrition.
Thane graduated Summa Cum Laude from Purdue University, specializing in Nutrition and Holistic Medicine.
Cynthia is a craniofacial disability activist, fashion model, and graduate student with a Master’s degree in Public Health from Purdue University. A high-school and college dropout, she bravely persevered in the face of rejection and began earning her college degrees after returning to school. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate's Degree in Business Administration.
Cynthia has overcome many chronic health conditions caused by Treacher Collins Syndrome, a genetic birth defect that affects the bones, muscles, and soft tissues of the face and skull. To date, she’s undergone 16+ reconstructive plastic surgeries.
As the Murphys suffered a myriad of progressively worsening symptoms, they were led into the realm of veganism. They quickly realized that cases of cancer and medical illness are on the rise globally. Eating organically nutritious foods is challenging due to the scarcity of health resources and money.
Assuaged was founded on the concept of the blue zones movement and in the region of Loma Linda, California - one of only five geographical areas in the world and the only one in the United States. Research studies and several news reports have established that residents in these blue zones maintain supreme health and live past the age of one hundred.
The Murphys are passionately seeking to bridge the gap between healthcare and self-care to meet the needs of healthy living as a method for longevity. They are going beyond charity and unifying people through love and compassion.
Assuaged’s motto is 'Be Your Healthiest and Live Longer’.

About Assuaged Foundation, Inc.
33271 Green Valley Lake Rd. # 8502, Green Valley Lake, CA 92341, US
Assuaged is a 501(c)(3) that provides valuable work experience for college students by bridging the gap between academic study, self-care, and the practical world of technology. Our mission is "uniting military leaders to guide and mentor college students through the transition process to form a sense of purpose and resiliency." We use our plant-based vegan educational platform and public health advocacy as a tool for student learning and skill-building.
Our world is becoming increasingly dependent on the use of technology. The Assuaged Foundation has a responsibility to help our students become familiar with and comfortable using technology in their everyday lives. In addition to this, students enjoy technology; it is fun and exciting. Using a technology-focused approach to raise awareness around public health matters via social media, SEO content curation, and public speaking through active live discussions will help get even the most reticent student interested and excited about enhancing their skillsets through the use technology. If a student is actively engaged in the learning process, greater social awareness and academic gains are seen. It has been found that in using remote technologies students have shown significant growth in social media, public speaking, and writing proficiency.
