Need volunteer hours? Want to help your community? Volunteer at the Laguna Niguel Library!

We are currently recruiting teens going into 9th-12 grades for our annual Summer Reading Program! Volunteers work weekly two hour shifts at our summer reading booth to register and check-in patrons of all ages for our summer reading program. This is a fun and easy way to get your volunteer hours while helping your community.

Pick up an application at the library's Service Desk and sign up for the mandatory training orientation in early June.

During the school year, we are always looking for teens in grades 9-12 who can work independently to help us shelve books, help prepare crafts, and other library duties as assigned.

Please note that a parent/guardian signature is required for those under 18. High schoolers 18 and over must pass a background check before volunteering.

Description

Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.

OC Public Libraries is a network of community libraries in your neighborhood or as near as your computer. We have 33 branches as well as an outlet in the Orangewood Children’s Home which provide a variety of services to residents throughout the County. Some of the branches are operated within the jurisdiction of the County’s 33 cities and within the County’s unincorporated area.

Once you have an OC Public Libraries card, you are entitled to check out materials from any of our 33 branches as well as from other libraries with reciprocal lending privileges. OC Public Libraries welcomes your visits and hopes you take time to get acquainted with our staff, services, materials, and programs.
