Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: ARC is searching for a reliable and goal-oriented Administrative/Executive Assistant. As the Administrative/Executive Assistant, you will work directly with the Executive Director and will be responsible for performing several administrative duties.

Responsibilities include:

  • General office support, phones, messages, check email, check the website for messages
  • Help with the monthly creation of the ARC newsletter and distribution
  • Support the Acting Executive Director
  • Assist the Day Program Manager class schedules, group emails to families and inputting information for reimbursement
  • Work on event planning as directed by the Acting Executive Director or Coordinator. If available, attend the event.
  • Research on the internet, as requested. Support ARC in inputting data and implementing a CRM
  • Draft of committee meeting summary or minutes

Requirements:

  • Experience in philanthropy and non-profits a plus
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities a plus
  • Proven experience in administration strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Outstanding organizational and planning abilities

Time Commitment: 4-6 hours, 2-3 times a week for 3-6 months.

Physical Requirements: This opportunity is on-site with potential for remote work.

OUR IMPACT

Since 1991, L.A. Works has mobilized and led volunteers to contribute over a million hours to Los Angeles through unique volunteer programming, which has included:

  • Serving meals and preparing emergency food provisions for over 425,000 homeless and low-income individuals;
  • Providing educational and enrichment activities for over 65,000 disadvantaged youth;
  • Revitalizing schools, parks, and community centers for more than 200,000 volunteer hours;
  • Offering companionship to seniors and friendship to abused and homeless women for more than 20,000 volunteer hours;
  • Conserving, cleaning, and restoring urban and natural environments in and around Los Angeles for more than 75,000 volunteer hours;
  • Caring for animals in shelters and sanctuaries at over 1,200 volunteer projects; and
  • Training more than 900 Angelenos in the project and volunteer management.
