Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity is building (8) townhomes in NE Bend and we need your help! Volunteer opportunities are M-F, 8am-4pm but volunteers do not need to arrive at 8am or stay the full day; we just ask that you let us know when you plan to be on site so we can plan accordingly.

Construction experience is not required and we try to have tasks for all skill levels and abilities. Our on-site staff will provide training and education as needed and we provide all the tools, materials, and supplies to complete the tasks at hand.

For our Watercress project, we are jumping right into interior finishes so come join our amazing crew of staff and volunteers on site and help us build quality, affordable housing for those in need!

Mission Statement

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to providing affordable homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income families and individuals in Bend and Redmond. Since 1989, Bend-Redmond Habitat has built more than 174 homes and repaired over 145 more, providing more than 1000 children and adults with safe, secure and healthy homes.

Description

Bend-Redmond Habitat is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. In 1989, Les Alford and a group of like-minded individuals saw the urgent need for decent affordable housing for low income families. They established our local affiliate and developed an environment where volunteerism became the key to helping the disadvantaged, one home at a time.

In 2019, we proudly merged with Redmond Habitat for Humanity, thus officially becoming Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity.

Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
