Youth Program Manager

About our Youth Programs:

Youth Empowering Youth is a nine-session leadership program for teens aged 13-18. The program takes place online using zoom, once a week for 1.5 hours. Each class shares a new concept to help students take accountability for their thoughts, feelings and actions, thus moving them into a place of confidence, security, and self-assurance.

Youth Empowering Youth is a division of Low Entropy, a nonprofit organization that is making personal growth accessible to all, and in doing so providing people with the tools to change themselves and the world.

Role:

The Youth Program Manager is responsible for the general oversight of the Youth Empowering Youth programs and workshops. Working with a team of volunteers, the manager will ensure that we run 12 online programs per year, plus additional workshops. The manager will support the promotion of the program and provide general oversight to all volunteers and youth team members within the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Screen an onboard volunteer team members
  • Lead the volunteer team consisting of: Program Coordinators, Adult Coaches, Admin Assistants, and Youth Facilitators
  • Ensure all preparation is complete for all upcoming Youth Programs
  • Reach out to schools and partners to promote the Youth Programs
  • Problem-Solve as concerns or issues arise
  • Act as the first point of contact for any questions from Youth Facilitators, Adult Coaches, and Youth Program Admin Assistants. Remind these team members of their responsibilities if needed.
  • Check Slack each day to keep up with messages and announcements from the team.
  • Participate in online Program Team Meetings
  • Coordinate with other teams as needed to ensure smooth running of operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience with child and youth programs
  • Experience working with volunteers or experience as a volunteer
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Above-average computer skills
  • Familiar with Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Drive)
  • Familiar with Slack, able to check messages daily
  • Self-starter: as this position is work from home with flexible hours, you must be able to set and manage your own schedule in order to keep up with program needs
  • Highly organized, pays attention to detail
  • Proactive and excellent communication skills
  • Go-getter, great at brainstorming and problem solving
  • Available to volunteer 5-10 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months
  • Bonus: Have previous experience in program management
