Help kids learn about horses by volunteering with Promise Landing Farm! We need volunteers ages 13 and up to help lead horses, sidewalk with riders, and engage with kids and various farm animals on the ground. Previous horse experience is welcome but not required -- we'll provide you with orientation and training to get you up to speed.
Volunteer opportunities are on weekday mornings between June 26th and August 18th. This is a fun, active, outdoor volunteer experience. Expect to get dirty, do lots of walking, and have a great time!

Description
At PLF, we rely on our volunteers to ensure that every lesson runs safely and smoothly. We are always in need of side walkers and horse leaders for our lessons. No horse experience is necessary to volunteer with us - we will teach you everything you need to know at our volunteer training sessions and are always happy to answer any additional questions you might have.
As a side walker you act as a physical support alongside of the rider and provide encouragement and direction. Side walking is an amazing way to create a fulfilling partnership with our riders and experience the incredible progress that they make in their lessons.
Horse leaders are also a crucial part of our team as they lead our horses through the lesson, providing additional guidance and security to our riders and horses. Leaders have a special opportunity to work closely with our horses to really get to know their personalities and create a bond with them.
Volunteers may also sign up to assist our riders before and after lessons with grooming, tacking, and cooling down. Volunteers can attend additional training sessions, clinics, and demonstrations so they feel confident and empowered in their roles.
