  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Join Natural Restorations for a Munds Parks OHV Trail Cleanup on the Coconino National Forest!

Join us for a morning of stewardship & fun! Everyone will be in their own vehicles & OHV's exploring the trails, having a great time, & picking up trash along the way. Volunteers do not need 4-wheel drive, just a vehicle that can drive down forest roads.

Everyone is welcome, including youth volunteers when they are accompanied & supervised by a parent, guardian, or adult group leader. We would be happy to sign off on service hours or provide a Confirmation of Volunteer Service letter for youth volunteers.

Once the safety briefing and group photo are done, everyone is going to hit the trails. Everyone will meet back at the staging area at 1pm for a free raffle. Everyone will receive a free raffle ticket at sign-in. The raffle will be quick so that everyone can get out of the heat.

We will have a designated dumspter at the staging area for everyone to put their trash in so we can get an accurate weight of the amount of trash.

What to wear: It's going to be warm! Check the forecast before you head out so you can be prepared & dress accordingly. Please wear comfortable clothing & shoes that can get dirty. Wear thick-sole & closed toe sturdy shoes for safety (no flipflops/sandals). Wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

What to bring: please bring a reusable water bottle or hydration backpack. We will have coolers with water & ice for you to refill. You will be in your vehicle so you can easily bring a cooler with cold beverages, snacks, lunch etc.

We will provide gloves, bags, trash grabbers, & the dumspter. If you would prefer to use a bucket, you're welcome to bring a bucket for trash but you will need to empty it at the designated dumspter each time it's full.

Snacks: We will have snacks for volunteers. If you have any dietary restrictions, you may want to bring your own snack.

Bathrooms: There nearest bathroom will be at the Chevron off the I-17.

Free Volunteer Raffle: We are hosting a free volunteer raffle at 1pm for participating volunteers. Everyone will receive a raffle ticket at sign-in, must be present to win. We are giving away a few Natural Restorations t-shirts & Tru Flasks.

NR Merch: We will also have Natural Restorations branded t-shirts, hats, stickers, and Tru Flasks available for a donation. Natural Restorations is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Gilbert, Arizona. Last year we didn't have enough signal for our card reader and could only take cash donations.

Youth Groups: If you need youth registration paperwork ahead of time for parent/guardian signatures, please email us at contact@naturalrestorations.org and we will email them over to you.

Large Groups: Please have your group leader email us at contact@naturalrestorations.org for a group sign-in sheet to save time the day of the event. The group leader can get everyone in their group signed in then one person can turn the sheets into us at the registration table.

Note on safety & illness: Please help prevent the spread of any illness by staying home if you are sick, experiencing any symptoms, or have a compromised immune system. Do not worry about cancelling last minute, we would rather have a smaller turn out and have you join us at one of many future events.

You will be participating in an outdoor cleanup event at a public recreation area where any member of the public can come out and enjoy the area. This is a large area where you can easily spread out, but you will encounter people who are not participating in our cleanup; if you do not want to be at an event where this is a possibility, please consider joining us at a future event.

If you have any other questions, please click on the CONTACT button at the bottom of this page or email us at contact@naturalrestorations.org

About Natural Restorations

Location:

67 S. Higley Road, STE 103-118, Gilbert, AZ 85296, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to remove trash, graffiti from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas, revitalize natural areas through replanting projects, and enrich the lives of military veterans and other community members.

Description

We remove trash, graffiti and anything foreign to the environment from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas throughout the state of Arizona. We replant burn scar areas by salvaging cacti that would otherwise be destroyed on construction sites and we transport them to burn scars where our team replants them. We provide contract work to Military Veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team and host volunteer events for the community, including youth volunteers.

We have a passion for nature and we believe outdoor restorations and education ensures everyone will be able to enjoy outdoor recreation and wilderness areas. We approach every project with a commitment to long-term change and making lasting impacts in communities across the state.

We have removed over 1.5 million pounds of trash (791+ tons), planted over 53,500 trees, plants & cacti, and removed over 42,451 square feet of graffiti. We have provided over 17,400 hours of contract work to military veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team. We have hosted over 107 volunteer events and completed over 141 restoration projects with our Dedicated Restoration Team.
