Brighton Hospice has open slots for Social Work student Interns (Pre SW/BSW/MSW) who want to learn about hospice and fulfill their internship hours. You must be compassionate and willing to be with someone in their most precious time of need. You will receive training and get the support you need.
Hospice is a health care program for patients with a terminal diagnosis. Our patients are located throughout the Macomb, Oakland, Wayne, and Washtenaw County areas.
All volunteers are given training to ensure the comfort of themselves and hospice patients and families alike. Volunteer training will cover topics including: philosophy of hospice care, communication techniques, identifying and respecting cultural differences, spirituality, and grief and the healing process.
