Are you interested in making a difference in the Dallas-Fort Worth community? Have you been looking for a way to get involved in the fight against pancreatic cancer? Are you social media or communication savvy? Join the Dallas-Fort Worth Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) as our Communications Chair!
The Communications Chair raises awareness via social media and earned media placements in the community, focusing on PanCAN PurpleStride, Action Week and November Awareness. This chair also helps recruit and lead a communications committee. We are looking for a creative thinker who is confident in oral and written communication and knowledgeable about the Dallas-Fort Worth area!
We need you because pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers; the five-year survival rate is only 11%. It is currently the third leading cause of all cancer-related death in the US. We need people like you to help us create a world where all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive.

Description
PanCAN was the first organization dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer in a comprehensive way, and for more than two decades, we’ve grown a nationwide movement tackling the disease from all angles.
- Research: We fund transformative research - everything from early detection to innovative new treatment approaches.
- Patient Services: We provide information about treatment options, diet and nutrition, support resources and more, and we can answer all your questions along the way.
- Advocacy: We work with thousands of grassroots advocates to urge Congress to increase federal research funding for pancreatic cancer, and we get results.
- Community: Be part of our movement! You can volunteer locally, participate in a PurpleStride community event or host your own fundraiser.
