Recruiting Organization: Habitat for Humanity Portland Region

Our Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities. Women Build volunteers learn new skills and teach others-all while working in a supportive and empowering environment.

Join us at our Warehouse for a special edition ReStore Women Build Day on Saturday, July 9th. The Development Office is where the Online Store is for our ReStores (click the link to check out the store). Within the warehouse, there are new or lightly used, high-quality, donated furniture. Every purchase from the online store helps Habitat build more affordable housing for individuals and families in the Portland metro area.

We have partnered with Simpli Home who has generously agreed to donate their ready to assemble furniture. Simpli Home's belief is that everyone should be able to afford to acquire the furniture to which they aspire. Their mission goes hand-in-hand with Habitat's value for everyone to have the opportunity for an affordable home. The project for the day will be to assemble and build this furniture for the online store.

No experience is necessary to participate. Volunteers at our ReStore Women Build event will work under the guidance of staff. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved, and improves the community that you share.

Women Build is also a terrific way to involve your friends in crucial work with a lasting impact. Women helping women sends a positive and powerful message. You can also come alone, and make new friends. The atmosphere is collaborative and friendly. Through volunteer experiences and educational programming, Women Build encourages volunteer participants and financial supporters to challenge stereotypes, fight all forms of inequality, and advocate for themselves and each other.

Please wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and comfortable clothing you do not mind becoming a bit dirty.
