Walk With Sally, a non-profit that supports families impacted by cancer. We provide free individualized mentoring and support services to empower children ages 7-17 who are experiencing trauma through a parent, guardian, or sibling’s cancer journey. This includes ALL stages whether they have survived, are currently battling, or who have passed away. We are in need of an intern to assist our development team to promote our mission and reach more families navigating their cancer journey.
The Special Events & Development Intern will work directly with the Development Director and Manager to ensure the effective completion of all Walk With Sally sponsored special events. We will be focusing on our annual fundraising event, as well as smaller mixers and other marketing related events. Specific Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Assist in all "donation-development/ generating" sub-event activities such as silent auction, sweepstakes sales, fundraiser recruitment, sponsorship recruitment, mobile phone campaigns, social media donation campaigns and/or other. 2. Assist in tracking and processing event expenses. 3. Research and solicit in-kind donations for auction. 4. Assist event leadership as needed. 5. Assist with execution of special events and mixers where possible. 6. Assist in phone and email communication with WWS supporters

Walk With Sally believes no child should walk alone in the face of a loved one's cancer journey. Because we don't want cancer to define or limit children for the rest of their lives, we create hope, healing and a supportive community through individualized mentoring, which transforms the lives not only of the children, but also of the families impacted by cancer.
