Seeking regular and substitute volunteers in Addison, Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle Counties.
Happiness knocks when you volunteer to deliver a meal! Meals on Wheels provides so much more than a nutritious meal. The moment you knock on that door, you make a connection. It might be a quick hello or a conversation, but the impact lasts a lifetime. Not just for those receiving the meal, but for you, too.
We need your help. We are currently looking for folks who can:
- Deliver routes regularly (every week or every other week on the same day);
- Substitute in for openings throughout the month;
- Serve as on call volunteers who are able to step in in the case of last minute cancellations.
Time commitment is based on your availability--it can vary from one day a week to two days a month (weekdays only). Delivery is typically between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00a.m. We are in particular need of volunteers in St Albans, Swanton, Enosburg and Sheldon.
For more information, please contact the Volunteer Office: volunteer@agewellvt.org or 802-662-5249 or visit https://www.agewellvt.org/giving-back

Mission Statement
To provide the support and guidance that inspires our community to embrace aging and confidence.
Description
In 1974, the State of Vermont designated Age Well as the Area Agency on Aging for Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties in Northwestern Vermont. We carry out programs authorized by the Older Americans Act - federal legislation that calls for local organizations to take the lead in creating a coordinated system of services for older persons across the country.
As the leading experts and advocates for the aging population, we believe that health happens at home and focus on lifestyle, happiness and wellness-not on age. We have provided Vermonters with the necessary support to manage their daily living needs, with the goal of keeping them active, healthy and independent. Our wide array of programs enhance the quality of life and improve health outcomes.
Committed to helping individuals age well, we reduce barriers by providing access to healthy meals, in-home care and community resources. Delivered by staff members and over 1,000 incredible volunteers, our sought-after services are designed to meet the diverse needs of our clients, their families and caregivers. We do not charge for services provided. As a nonprofit, we rely on donations and encourage clients to contribute if they are able to do so.
