Avalon Hospice volunteers are a valuable part of our care team. Based on your interests and preferences, you'll receive specific training to help improve the quality of life for others. Our volunteer coordinators will help you discover the best fit!
Tasks volunteers perform include:
- Hold a hand, share a story
- Send cards
- Listen, read, or sing
- Make gifts for patients
- Run errands or perform light housekeeping
- Share flowers, bake, or garden
- Administrative office support
- Make phone calls
- Attend community events
No prior training is needed, and no physical/personal care is required. Volunteers help provide company to lonely seniors, give respite to full-time caregivers, and provide office support.
