Do you enjoy phone calls, chatting with seniors, and are you age 55+?
Senior Care Calls matches senior volunteers with lonely and isolated seniors in Knoxville. Volunteers call their match once per week to check on them and provide companionship.
Our volunteers help alleviate the loneliness, depression, and isolation that can occur for seniors who are homebound, who live in rural areas, or who lack family or traditional social networks.
We are looking for:
Volunteers age 55+
Will commit to calling weekly
Spending 30-60 minutes chatting with their senior match
Call their match for a six-month commitment
Many matches last for years, becoming life-long phone friends. Knoxville-Knox County CAC staff are available to support the senior and solve other needs that might arise in the conversation. Knoxville - Knox County CAC and CAC Office on Aging have many programs available to assist local community needs; and many of these programs utilize volunteers to assist with making a positive impact in the lives of Knox County community members.
