Are you age 55+ and looking to supplement your income?

AmeriCorps Seniors has two programs in Knoxville/Knox County that provide a stipend to income qualifying senior volunteers. The federally funded stipend does not count against any existing benefits a senior has.

Foster Grandparents matches senior volunteers with classrooms in local schools. Volunteers help teachers in the classroom and mentor students, giving them an encouraging role model and extra adult support.

Senior Companions matches senior volunteers with other seniors who need in-home help and companionship. Volunteers help with light housework or meal prep as well as keeping their senior company.

Minimum requirements:

Age 55 or older
15 hours of volunteering a week
Stipend is available for income-qualifying seniors
