But did you know, it’s also part of our mission to help people prepare? As a Preparedness
Volunteer you can help educate individuals, families, and communities on actions to reduce the
risk of a disaster and prepare to respond effectively and cope with disasters when they happen.
Responsibilities: - Implement preparedness programs - Hands-Only CPR, Ready Rating or Be Red Cross Ready - Participation in meetings, projects, and local preparedness activities. - Complete tasks such as implementing preparedness activities, meeting with partners to build relationships, conducting inventory, and procuring or receiving necessary preparedness supplies. Qualifications: - Ability to relate effectively with diverse groups and individuals - Excellent interpersonal, and verbal communication skills - Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and review program guidelines and tools - Experience or comfort public speaking Time Commitment: Varies, does not exceed 10 hours per week.
