Join us to help end prostate cancer at the Portland ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk! Volunteers are crucial to the success of the Run/Walk, helping to set up, clean up, hand out water and snacks, direct runners and walkers on the course, check in participants, hand out shirts to fundraisers and survivors, and more! Arrival would be at 6 am, and clean up will last until about 11:30 am. Please join us to volunteer and help make the 2023 Portland Run/Walk the most successful yet -- especially as we return to an in-person event for the first time in a few years! If you are able to volunteer on the morning of June 25, please respond to this opportunity with your shirt size, any accomadations you may need (i.e. a job where you're sitting, arriving late, etc.), and whether you plan to bring additional family or friends to volunteer as well.

Mission Statement

ZERO Prostate Cancer is the leading national nonprofit with the mission to end prostate cancer and help all who are impacted. ZERO advances research, provides support, and creates solutions to achieve health equity to meet the most critical needs of our community.

Description

ZERO has been on the front lines fighting for a cure for more than twenty years. Together, we’ve made a significant impact on the fight against the disease. ZERO is also rated 4-stars by Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.

ZERO offers comprehensive support for prostate cancer patients. Starting with education, we provide millions of men and families with disease information through our website, printed materials, videos, and webinars.
Our ZERO360 team of experienced case managers help patients access financial resources, cut through insurance and Medicare red tape, and find emotional support. For men with advanced prostate cancer who could not afford treatment, our financial assistance program provided grants to more than 48,000 men.

We pioneered mobile testing for prostate cancer, alerting men across the nation to lifesaving information and reducing prostate cancer mortality rates through early detection. We continue to support early detection and free testing with local partners across the country.

The ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk Series is the nation’s largest event series dedicated to men’s health. For more than a decade, the series has helped raise awareness and unite men and their families across the country as a powerful force in the fight against prostate cancer.
