The impact our tutors have on the children is amazing - academic success, greater confidence and improved mental health!

Afternoons: Belong! volunteer tutors help the same 1 or 2 students all semester for an hour a week:

  • Tuesdays OR Thursdays: 3:30-5:00 pm (with an elementary student; includes 15 minutes to set up and organize materials)
Tutors develop meaningful relationships with students, building confidence in their academic skills and perseverance. Belong! provides training and educational materials to use with students.

A typical tutoring session includes homework time for older kids and phonics time for younger ones, reading practice or story time, math games, and then a board game before heading home. Most students are English language learners and behind grade level in reading and math and greatly benefit from small-group or individual help.

1 Shift

  • afternoon / 03:30 PM to 05:00 PM
    Tues. OR Thurs. from 3:30 - 5 pm; Tutor an elementary student in math reading & English conversation, it includes 15 minutes for set up.
