Briefly meet in person with clients at our Wheaton location and update their demographic information in our database. Provide basic PRC and community resource information to them.

A 1-2 hour mandatory training is provided for this position.

What would make you a good fit for this opportunity?

  • You are very comfortable interacting with people from many cultures and backgrounds
  • You are very comfortable typing, searching for information in a database, and navigating through tabs of information on a computer
  • You are flexible when translation services are required to communicate
  • You are excited to learn about community resources
  • You can commit to volunteer at least 2x/month for 12 months
  • You are available Wednesdays from 4:30-7:45pm

Description

Since 1975, People’s Resource Center has been bringing neighbors together to respond to hunger and poverty in DuPage County. With a team of over 1,500 volunteers, we offer nutritious food and other basic necessities like clothes and rent assistance for people facing tough times. And we connect people with resources--education and tutoring, jobs, technology, art, a caring community--to create a future of hope and opportunity for all.

Volunteer at PRC: Help in the food pantry or clothes closet, become a tutor, teach a class, organize a food drive, make a difference to a neighbor in need.
