Volunteer Position: Transportation Dynamo Dispatcher



Many seniors and people living with disabilities are unable to drive and often have no ready access to alternative transportation. These individuals rely on the kindness and generosity of volunteers in our community. Volunteer drivers donate their time to drive clients to doctor's appointments and grocery stores. Our volunteer dispatchers piece the whole puzzle together by matching clients' needs with driver availability.



Schedule:

- Our Transportation desk is open Monday-Friday, approximately 10am - 2pm

- Dispatchers take one or more 3-4 hour shifts a week depending on their availability

- We ask that our dispatchers commit to 3 months of volunteering

- Dispatchers can work remotely



Responsibilities:

-Answer calls and emails to facilitate matches between clients and volunteer drivers

-Explain how our program operates to new clients and volunteers

-Record all ride assignments



Qualifications:

- Patient, kind, and organized

- Eager to help seniors

- Dispatchers will need reliable transportation method

- Willingness to learn new computer programs



Training/Support:

- Program training and overview with staff

- Volunteers will receive ongoing training and support
