Friends of Ames Strings is looking for volunteers to join our Board of Directors. Meetings are 1x per month and time commitment outside of board meetings in minimal. No special skills are required to support the FOAS mission as a board member.

The Friends of Ames Strings (FOAS) is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to support youth string players and orchestra programs in Ames, IA, and surrounding areas. This is accomplished by providing unique educational and performance opportunities along with grant funding to school orchestra programs.
The Friends of Ames Strings (FOAS) is a 100% volunteer led organization that began in 1989. We hold an annual Summer Strings Workshop and facilitate other educational programs throughout the year.
