Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog is seeking a volunteer Board Treasurer to oversee the financial duties of the organization. Approximately 8-10 hours per month. Duties include allocate funds in QuickBooks program, prepare P&L/ Expense statements and annual financial reports, prepare annual tax forms and annual audit in conjunction with an outside accountant/firm, and participate in zoom/committee/Board meetings.
Must have commitment to the organization’s mission and strategic direction, an understanding of, and experience with, good financial management and reporting practices, a professional accounting designation if possible and, an appreciation of the kind and level of financial information needed, at a board level to support decision making.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to support Massachusetts Police dogs by helping provide bullet resistant vests (our primary goal), essential equipment, funding for training, and purchase of dogs for police / law enforcement K-9 programs throughout Massachusetts.
Description
Our primary goal continues to be to insure every Massachusetts K-9 has a bullet resistant vest. While law enforcement agencies provide bullet-resistant vests for their human officers, they are unable to fund vests for K-9 officers. As K-9s are trained to give up their lives to protect their partners and all of us, we believe it is every bit as important to protect them.
A bulletproof K9 vest ranges from $1350 to *$2500 each (handler/dept choice). All K9 vests will also protect against blunt force trauma if kicked, punched, or struck with an object, like a bat.
*$2900 K9 Storm(tm) bullet/stab-protective tactical vest for Massachusetts K-9 patrol teams that are actively assigned to a tactical team or regularly train in tactical deployment.
