Homeless Children's Education Fund is seeking volunteers to help staff summer programming for K-8th grade students at 2 shelters in the Pittsburgh area this summer. This is a great opportunity to help build kids' confidence in their abilities and prevent learning loss over the summer by helping our instructors deliver a variety of fun, creative educational activities.
Volunteers will assist instructors in the afternoons 1 day per week for the 6 week duration of the program. Program runs either Tues-Wed from 1 to 4 PM or Mon-Thur from 12:30 to 4:30 PM, depending on site location. Volunteers will need to provide PA child abuse, PA background check, and federal background check clearances; we can help you get them, but the program starts soon, so preference will be given to those who already have them.

Description
Volunteers with the Homeless Children's Education Fund provide direct service to the children and youth in our programs through tutoring and mentoring. They help with special events and in the office and advocate for them through our outreach efforts throughout Allegheny County.
