ORGANIZATION: Soldiers' Angels - San Antonio

POSITION SUMMARY

(Caregiver Group Leader would fall under the Women of Valor Team)

The Women of Valor Group Leader(s) is responsible for managing the different programs within in the team. Group Leader(s) will be responsible for managing Team Angels who are members of the team, social media sites, supporting/reporting of Team Angels, monthly Blessing Boxes/Hugs, and/or MDLive. The Women of Valor Group Leader(s) goal is to ensure the proper level of oversight and support for all Team Angels and Caregivers. The Group Leader(s) is responsible for following all policies and procedures of the different programs within the team. This ensures a consistent quality of service and sets clear expectations of each program within the team. It is imperative that all Team Angels and Caregivers feel fully supported and valued.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the supervision of at least 20-300 Team Angels
  • Group Leaders report directly to the Team Leader. If there is an issue with the Team Leader, Group Leaders should then go to the Family Support Teams Program Manager
  • Work closely with the Team Leader to ensure their Team Angels and Caregivers are well informed and are receiving the support needed to succeed in the program
  • Follow all policies and procedures put in place by the Team Leader to ensure consistency of services to all Team Angels and Caregivers
  • Provide orientation, support, training and supervision to all new Team Angels and Caregivers
  • Acknowledge and recognize the contribution of Team Angels
  • Notify the Team Leader immediately, should there be an issue with a Team Angel or Caregiver
  • Follow all policies and procedures put in place by the Women of Valor Program
  • Develop strong relationships with other Group Leader(s) and Team Leader to ensure best use of the resources, tools and knowledge for the Team Angels and Caregivers
  • Ensure emails are answered within 24-48 hours of receipt.
  • Create a positive environment where two-way communication and strong trust are established with both Caregivers, Group Leader(s), and Team Leader
  • Maintain a positive Social Media presence, only responding when sure of answer, but tagging Team Leader should there be any doubts.
  • Share stories, pictures, quotes and team statistics to the Team Leader bi-weekly or as requested

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Abide by and support the philosophy, policy, and guidelines of the organization.
  • Act in the best interests of the organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Carry out the tasks outlined in the Duties and Responsibilities above as well as your specific program duties and responsibilities
  • Participate in orientation, meetings, and training as scheduled.
  • All Group Leaders are required to read and sign the Volunteer Handbook.
  • All Group Leaders will undergo a background check.
  • Conflict resolution: Should a Group Leader ever have an issue/concern; they are asked to contact the Team Leader directly. If resolution is not able to be handled at this level, it will be escalated to the Family Support Teams Program Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • May not be a Team Leader/Group Leader on any other team
  • Prior experience on the Women of Valor Team preferred by not required
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities and strategic thinking
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to prioritize big picture ideas and execute into tangible actions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to present effective and compelling messages to individuals, groups and the public
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a diverse variety of individuals.
  • Experience with Windows-based software
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
  • Other as determined by specific type of GL listed below:

Caregiver Group Leader

  • Responsible for educating the caregivers about MDLive and the services they provide
  • Responsible for recruiting/increasing the amount of caregivers in the MDLive program
  • Provide trainings and step-by-step instructions on how to use MDLive via website, phone, and app
  • Provide surveys to the caregivers to get testimonials about their experience with MDLive as well as to make sure MDLive is benefiting the caregivers
  • Responsible for communicating with the Family Support Teams Program Manager when a new caregiver wants to sign up
  • Communicate and notify the Family Support Teams Program Manager if a caregiver is having issues with MDLive (i.e. asking for a credit card from a caregiver or if they are notified that their account is suspended)
  • Group Leader will join MDLive to understand the sign up process and how to use the app for MDLive (because this GL must understand how MDLive functions and the benefits it provides this GL will receive the benefits as an "employee" while they are performing the duties of the MDLive GL)
  • Develop strong relationships with the caregivers
