Hamisi Community Based Organization is a non-profit organization that was established in 2017 to empower women, youth, and men from vulnerable and poverty-stricken backgrounds to realize a sustainable community focusing on key areas of Education, Water, Health, Sanitation, and Agriculture to improve their livelihood.
The organization is strongly focused on offering training skills in various community development, social work, and practical solidarity to the less privileged members of their communities by addressing and campaigning against the effects of systemic social and economic injustice.

Its vision is to be a leader in innovations that create enterprising solutions for the needy and contribute to the socio-economic empowerment of disadvantaged communities as well as foster harmonious relations among people of different backgrounds. CIVS Kenya organizes project attachments throughout the year for volunteers to offer their services as they learn, gain exposure and experience, and at the same time, enjoy themselves through organized safaris and expeditions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 16
  • Orientation or Training
  • Volunteers work for between 6 to 8 hours a day excluding weekends depending on the daily tasks available at the project.
  • A sleeping bag, sleeping mat, and mosquito net are necessary. You can also bring photos of your country, clothes, books, pens, toys, etc.
