By serving on the board of a high-quality childcare center, Friends of St. Francis, you will assist parents to seek and find work, continue employment, or obtain training toward the goal of employment. All this, while knowing their child is in the care of qualified caring teachers who provide an educationally stimulating, safe, and enjoyable experience in a unique outdoor nature-based environment that minimizes covid exposure.
Applicants must be passionate about serving families from all economic backgrounds and cultures and ethnicities in one community-based program. Famly support principles guide our work. Valuing and supporting our diverse team of teachers in their work is equally important.

Mission Statement
Friends of St Francis Childcare Center is a non profit early care and education program who mission is to provide best practice services to families of young children from diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds using a family support model that calls for continued support for and collaboration with the families served and the larger community.
Description
Friends of St. Francis a 44 year old 501 (c)3 organization serving 38 children ages 2 to 5 and their families. Highly qualified teachers engage students in a program that promotes positive social emotional skills, early literacy and numeracy, and offers daily opportunities for creative expression through art, music and movement. We have an outstanding outdoor education component that includes hands on gardening from planting to harvesting.
Our program aims to have a lifelong impact on children and parents. Support services from a myriad of collaborating organizations allow for early identification and intervention for those in crisis or with special.developmental needs.
Our board is recruiting members whose interests and skills lend themselves to carrying out our mission and our strategic plan. This includes recruitment of human resource professionals, health practitioners, fundraising and event planners, and folks with experience in project management, finance, architecture, board governance , arts education and connections to potential collaborating organizations and individuals.
