GRCB is a non-profit organization with a mission to empower girls, women, and gender expansive youth and adults to believe in themselves by building a supportive community that fosters self-expression, confidence, and collaboration through music education and performance. GRCB will be holding our week-long summer sessions and we are looking for volunteers! GRCB's Summer Sessions are week-long programs for girls and gender-expansive youths ages 8 to 17. Youth participants receive instrument instruction (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, or keyboards), form a band, and write an original song at a Boston-area music venue.
GRCB is looking for a passionate vocalist to pass on their musical knowledge to a new musician! Our youth participants vary in age and skill level, including some who have never touched a musical instrument before. Previous teaching experience is not required. Instrument Instructors do some collaborative large-group teaching as well as small-group sessions (generally 3 to 5 youths per Instructor).
Before orientation, Instrument Instructors meet at least once with our Musical Curriculum Director and fellow Instrument Instructors to plan the curriculum and determine which style and level of experience each Instructor is comfortable teaching.
