Recruiting Organization: Soul Towne Community Outreach

  • Career Readiness Instructor is responsible for providing instruction to adult learners of varying academic levels. The instructor helps students meet necessary goals towards their chosen career pathway. The Instructor will be tasked with formatting and designing the class/workshop that's to be taught. Instructors will also need to collaborate with the Peer Coach on the participants progress, to review and evaluate if necessary revisions of a participants pathway needs to be made or if any further classes may be needed. Prepare lesson plans and course materials for face-to-face and online instruction that maximize participant's learning. Employ appropriate and diverse teaching and learning strategies - i.e. individual, group, hands-on and contextualized instruction as well as lecture and discussion. Incorporate instructional technology (i.e. internet, software programs, laptops, and/or SMART Board) when available and appropriate. Provide counseling and academic guidance to students as needed to achieve academic and career goals. Maintain accurate records of participant's attendance. Implement best practices for the retention and recruitment of participants. We are a small local non-profit who are in search of any individuals with experience in business, employment specialist or have done work in the fields of human and social services, human resource, education, information/computer technology, finance, business management or marketing. This opportunity is scheduled to begin in July and volunteers will be needed Monday-Saturdays with anticipated hours between the times of 10am-6pm (schedules are flexible and can be designed to the volunteers availability).
