Calling all Green Thumbs!

The Heart Touch Project is accepting applications for Garden Maintenance Volunteers at this time.

Garden Maintenance Volunteers will help grow and maintain the plants in our nonprofit's outdoor garden area.

This position is for volunteers interested in performing general gardening practices outdoors who are enthusiastic about plants, and don’t mind repetitive tasks like weeding and watering the garden.

Volunteers should be willing and able to:

- Perform general gardening chores including pruning, planting, weeding, and watering
- Stoop and bend
- Wind and unwind 10 lb garden hose
- Travel to Santa Monica twice a week to tend to the garden (approx 30 mins per day)

The Heart Touch Project is a non-profit service and educational organization devoted to the delivery of compassionate and healing touch to homebound or hospitalized men, women, children and infants.

Description

The Heart Touch Project trains and professional health care practitioners with criticially ill men, women and children in the Los Angeles, Ventura and Orange Counties and delivers free compassionate touch therapy to those in need.
Heart Touch has recently launched an international branch delivering compassionate touch to Thailand, India, and Africa.

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Must be at least 16
  • Volunteers must commit to spending thirty minutes twice a week watering and maintaining our garden from July through October. Shifts can be structured based upon the volunteers' availability.
