Think Dignity, a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) organization, aims to inspire, empower, and organize our communities to advance basic dignity for those experiencing homelessness through the provision of legal advocacy and social services.
The Fresh Start Showers program--the largest program in our line of Mobile Operations of Dignity (MOD) Squad services--travels throughout San Diego County to provide access to basic hygiene services for those experiencing homelessness. Our shower events also serve as a resource hub as we invite other agencies and community partners to provide services and opportunities to restore dignity, such as mental health and medical assistance, hot meals, haircuts, and clean clothes.
For the Compass Station in Pacific Beach, the Fresh Start Showers program provides services every 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. Volunteer shifts will be from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Volunteers can support the Fresh Start Showers events by:
- Managing the resource table and assisting with intake/exit forms
- Ensuring cleanliness and safety of showers units and monitoring shower times
- Distributing and replenishing the shower supply table
