This program is for people with disabilities ages eight and up. We understand that the vast majority of people with disabilities never experience the thrill of independently riding a two-wheel bicycle during their lifetime. So, that is where we come in!

Here are some details!
What : Help children and adults with disabilities learn how to ride a bike!
When : July 28 - August 1 (with an orientation on July 27... if you can make it)
*we are also flexible if you cannot make some days!
*Different 75-minute sessions - choose one or more!
*Session 1 and 2 are closed, but we are in need of volunteers during...
[Session #4: 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm] - about 10 spots to be filled!
[Session #5: 3:35 pm - 4:50 pm] - about 8 spots to be filled!
*consistency is KEY for our riders so pick the same session(s) to do throughout the week if possible!

DSAOC’s Mission is to create a place for connection, information and hope for people with Down syndrome and their families throughout greater Orange County, to promote Down syndrome awareness through community outreach, and to offer programs, services and support that aim to empower individuals with Down syndrome to reach their full potential. Our Vision is to be a one-stop-shop for all things Down syndrome related, and to be a model organization for community collaboration and Down syndrome awareness, to change perceptions and change lives.
Description
Currently serving more than 2,000 families in Orange County and surrounding areas, DSAOC also assists educators, health care professionals, researchers and therapists with information, training and support materials.The organization, which previously focused most of its support on families who had children with Down syndrome between the ages of 0 and 5, has now grown to provide programs, services, resources and activities for all age groups. Affiliated with the National Down Syndrome Society and National Down Syndrome Congress, DSAOC is the only county wide organization dedicated solely to serving Orange County's Down syndrome population and their families.

- We ask volunteers to commit to attending all 5 days of camp for the session(s) selected. Riders bond with their assigned volunteers and rely on the same person to be there to support them each day of camp.
