Many big-hearted people want to help rescue cats and kittens, but don’t know how, or have circumstances that prevent them from bringing an animal into their home. One of the greatest needs for animal welfare and rescue groups is transportation. Cats and kittens need frequent transportation and NYC Cat Coalition needs your help to get them there.

Have a little extra time on your hands? Know the roads in your area like the back of your hand or have a smartphone to guide the way? Have a car with some extra room for a furry passenger? Maybe you’re willing to pick up a cat as part of your daily commute or while running errands?

As a volunteer driver, you will help us to get our furry friends where they need to go. We frequently need cats to be drive to/from the Bronx, Manhattan or Westchester. We’ll work with your schedule, and you can volunteer as frequently or rarely as works for you. We are a 501c3 organization, so any gas and tolls are tax-deductible, and we are happy to provide you with a letter.

• Must be comfortable handling cats (or able and willing to learn), getting them into and out of carriers, driving with cats in the vehicle and entering adopter/foster’s homes (with all appropriate COVID precautions, of course). Must be knowledgeable about general cat care and needs.

• Drivers must be 21 or older with a valid driver's license.
