Are you up for an adventure? Do you love a good challenge that will open your heart? Members of the TNR Team do various tasks to hopefully ease the suffering of cats living on the streets:

  • Trap feral cats using humane traps for getting them fixed, vaccinated and released again in their original locations. SCFOA provides the humane traps.
  • Transport (to and/or from, using your own vehicle) to surgery appointments in Fairfield, Richmond, Napa, Sacramento, and sometimes Modesto. Also transport to getting vaccines and tests for FeLv and FIV and/or transport to convenient locations for other transporter pickups.
  • Assess community situations for trapping by going to various locations, speaking to community members who request help and assistance with trapping feral cats in their yard or area. This might also require emailing and phone calls with community members.
  • Assist in helping to manage feral colonies in Benicia and Vallejo. Monthly cat food donations are provided by SCFOA.
  • Recovery of feral cats who have had surgery, in your garage or shed, 3-7 days for females, 1-2 days for males using holding crates, provided by SCFOA.
  • Sometimes care for sick feral cats before releasing them to their original locations using holding crates, provided by SCFOA.

Description

Solano County Friends of Animals (SCFOA) is a local no-kill 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are entirely volunteer run and 100% of all donations go directly to the care of our animals, including spay/neuter services, medical expenses, and Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) programs. Though we try to accommodate all small mammals, our primary focus is on homeless cats and kittens.
