Social Media Assistant - VPPP (Volunteer Position)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Familiarize yourself with It’s A Military Life mission, vision, and goals.
• Complete training for It's a Military Life as this will be the primary focus.
• Assist Social Media Manager with creating dynamic content and its creative design for social media platforms.
• Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.
• Bring any and all issues directly to the Social Media Manager.
• Actively monitor social media sites, update and/or schedule posts and ongoing social media content on Facebook, Instagram and other sites as assigned.
• Assist Social Media Manager with developing creative assets using design programs and/or apps including Canva, Poster My Wall and others.
• Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews.
• Manage social media engagement during events, such as Facebook Live and other live posts. Act as moderator.
• Check email at least 3 times a week and respond accordingly.
• Complete end of week review weekly and attend weekly meetings with Social Media Manager.
• Maintain a positive image of the organization at all times.
• Complete any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Social Media Manager.

Qualifications:

• Able to work a minimum of 5 hours per week
• Prior social media manager experience with excellent leadership skills.
• Prefer BS degree in Marketing/relevant field OR professional certificate in social media/relevant field.
• Knowledge of online marketing channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices).
• Excellent time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A passion for the program, military and helping others.
