Covenant House Alaska serves youth experiencing homelessness. We are seeking someone who would commit to a full-time, one year service term with AmeriCorps.
The Social Media and Event Communications Vista will assist will all external communications and have a large role in creating and messaging across all of our social media platforms and create avenues to gather content inter-departmentally. Candidate must be comfortable working with photography and videography, have some basic graphic design knowledge and strong storytelling and writing skills. The Vista, with the Communications officer, will design, write and produce a 4-5 episode podcast series designed to share our story. While, this position does not directly work with our youth, there will be opportunities to interact with them to help ethically tell their story. This position will occasionally work side by side with donors, volunteers and other departments to assist with events and other communications initiatives. The Vista will also have an opportunity to work on strategic communications planning and develop various communications assets both data and design driven.

Covenant House Alaska is to be the leader, through collaboration with the community, to provide compassionate, sustainable services and shelter to homeless or at-risk youth in Alaska.

The right to be free from sexual, emotional, or physical abuse.
The right to be free from exploitation.
Youth experiencing homelessness have the right to be safe, and most importantly, to be loved.
