Seeking Advisory Board Members for Best Buddies in Eastern PA

We are looking for 3 individuals, who are passionate about inclusion, to serve on our Best Buddies Advisory Board in eastern Pennsylvania. Best Buddies is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society.

Are you a Donor, a Doer or a Door Opener? Our Advisory Board members are key to the success of our programs and fundraising efforts. We ask each member to commit to the following items, annually:

• Attend 10 monthly Advisory Board meetings (one hour each, usually by Zoom)
• Serve on one of our two special event organizing committees
• Provide leads for corporate event sponsors
• Make a personal gift to Best Buddies annually (required by most foundations for funding)
• Recruit friends, family, or colleagues to purchase 10 tickets (one table) at our annual signature fall fundraiser in November
• Participate in our Friendship Walk in April with a team of 6 or more
