POSITION SUMMARY- Purpose of position and relevance to BRHS mission
Vaccine Clinic Exam Assistant Volunteers are responsible for assisting the Vaccine Clinic staff with various aspects of the clinic. The Vaccine Clinic provides low cost vaccinations to any animal belonging to an owner who resides in Henderson County. This position assists with client communications, completing written scripts to go home, and gathering medications to go home for the patient at each visit. This position supports the mission of BRHS by allowing us to most effectively and safely provide services to animals in our community to ensure the highest quality of life.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Including but not limited to:
 Commit to a regular Vaccine Clinic volunteer shift and inform the Volunteer Coordinator and Community Programs Manager if you are unable to make a shift.
 Show up on time for your shift at 9:30 am
 Assist in prep for the clinic by moving supplies out and prepping paperwork for all the animals coming in that day.
 Enter all vaccines and testing into Shelterluv for each animal seen.
 Assist in animal handling during appointment.
 Notify staff or any unusual or dangerous activity that occurs.
 Work cooperatively with all Blue Ridge Humane society staff and partnering staff; report any concerns with staff to the Volunteer Coordinator.
 Represents BRHS in a professional manner at all times in appearance, demeanor.
 Communicate effectively with Adoption Center Volunteer Coordinator, staff, and volunteers and help maintain a positive work environment.
 Maintain a judgement free attitude. Many different people access our services for a variety of reasons; a key tenant of the Vaccine Clinic is to reserve judgment of anyone coming to us for assistance. Regardless of their situation, we are able to assist their animal by providing it with a variety of medical services that can keep it happy, healthy, and in its home with its loving family for many years to come.
 At the completion of your shift, accurately report hours in the Volunteer Information Center online.
