ORGANIZATION: COLORADO AMP

Image_202205010629

Colorado AMP is looking for people who are excited about music and love working with kids. We're running several summer camps for kids ages 10-15. During the camps students learn to play an instrument and create a band performance for their friends and family. Volunteers get to come along for the ride, learning alongside students and getting introduced to piano, guitar, bass and drums.

You do not need a background in music, just an enthusiasm for learning and willingness to jump in and help the teachers and the kids. This could be a great opportunity for adults, parents, college or high-school aged kids who have always wanted to learn more about the different aspects of making music. Volunteers and students will learn basic music theory and ear training, how to play different instruments and perform in a band.

Here are the details:

  • Camps run for 3 hours/session on weekdays for two weeks. We will work with your schedule if you're not able to be there every day!
  • Some sample activities volunteers will be asked to help with: icebreakers art projects, promotional materials, costumes, etc. We also need people to help encourage the kids as they memorize parts and keep them focused as they prepare for their performance.
  • All volunteers will be asked to complete a general background check
