A Cupboard Ally delivers groceries to families struggling in poverty or in crisis and seeks to be an intentional friend. Deliveries are made to 2 - 5 families one Saturday a month. The families you are assigned are families that you will be serving monthly for as long as there is a need. The Saturday delivery day is determined in advance and is typically the same Saturday (ex., 2nd Saturday) each month. We ask that you take your time and treat this time as visiting a friend, not as a task to complete.
Additionally, Cupboard Allies will communicate at least once per month with the family by phone, text or email. We encourage allies to check in with their families.

Common Heart is a non-profit that helps both families in crisis and those in the community to understand the causes of poverty and how to be part of the solution in practical ways. Common Heart has several food pantries (Common Cupboard) & boutique thrift shop (Common Things). Common Heart also offers several other services: free tax service, Getting Ahead Program, Bridges Out of Poverty Program and more.
