Help clean up the 118 Freeway.

MISSION

Volunteers Cleaning the Community is a community-based organization focused on helping make the world around us a better, cleaner, environmentally friendly, litter-free place.

IMPACT

We make a difference in the community by picking up the litter and debris thrown on the highway... Safety issues as well.



With the help of amazing community volunteers, we organize cleaning events to clean our local streets of litter and through the Adopt A Highway Program, we clean a 3 1/2 mile section of the 118 Freeway from the on and off-ramp of Tampa to the on and off-ramp of Balboa both the north and south sides.



VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Adopt A Highway member, we have adopted Tampa to Balboa along the 118 both north and south sides of the freeway. We clean an area at least twice a month and train groups to help us either up at the sidewalk and island areas or on the freeway floor bed.



REQUIREMENTS

You must wear long pants; close-toed shoes and we issue helmets for those that are working the actual highway.

We provide all the equipment; volunteers should bring a passion for getting the community clean.
