Vacancy for a Graphic Designer (Volunteer; Part-time)

Volunteer (unpaid) position to create designed images and brochures for various projects and advertising for SASA. The Graphic Designer works on the Communications Team under the leadership of Communications Team Leader, Lauren Kubosch.

The duration of this position is flexible, depending on the applicant's schedule. Expected work hours are 5-10 hours per week. The Graphic Designer will be expected to attend weekly meetings with the Communications Team and have meetings with Lauren and other SASA volunteers as needed. All meetings occur via video call, and all work is done remotely. Designs will be created in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, which we provide.

This position is best suited for someone with prior graphic design experience, either in formal or informal contexts, with strong attention to detail and a keen eye for sharp, professional, bright yet subdued design.

Responsibilities:

• Work up a plan for each design element from ideas received from SASA Team Leaders.
• Execute graphic design & collaborate on revisions
• Uploading and curating of content on our Google Drive
• Ensuring our images have excellent presentation, as well as correct grammar and accurate information - copy editing
• Working in a timely fashion as scheduled with the Communications Team Leader
• Attending Communications Team meetings

Necessary skills:

• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Illustrator
• Excellent design aesthetic
• Attention to detail
• Ability to be proactive in communicating with and reaching out to others
• Ability to work remotely
