Description

Natural resources cover our planet. They are necessary, they are beautiful, they are invaluable, they are the source of both life and commerce. While natural resources are plentiful, access to these life sources is a privilege. We strive to connect people to the natural world, to educate about ecosystems, and to explore through scientific inquiry. Nestled upon the shores of the Gulf of California within the Bahía de los Ángeles Biosphere reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Vermilion Sea Field Station (VSFS) has hosted scientists, conservationists, educators, and students since the 1970’s. Currently we are looking to expand our programs for local youth, open our doors to scientific researchers from all over the world, and secure funding for long-term sustainability.
