HR Advisor Wanted to Develop On Boarding and Support Policies for Volunteers Working to Combat Climate Change
Army of Volunteers is a new nonprofit with the mission:
To heal and nurture the Earth as well as all the living things that make it their home.
Our major effort is to combat climate change, which has the potential to render the Earth uninhabitable for humans. More information is on our website:

We are building up a global network of climate volunteers to promote products and technologies that contribute to the fight against the climate crisis.
We are recruiting companies with breakthrough technologies to be our partners in this effort. Our volunteers work to solve technical and marketing problems for these companies.
Our goal is to help bring these companies to a global market sooner rather than later so that their technologies can have an impact on solving the climate crisis quickly.
Our volunteers are mostly young scientists and engineers who are eager to make a difference in the world by helping to solve this urgent problem.
However, getting the attention of these companies and starting collaboration is not an easy task. Many of the volunteers we recruit run into difficulty, get discouraged and drop out.
At this point, we feel we need the help of an HR advisor who has experience in onboarding new employees/volunteers and developing policies and plans to provide technical and emotional support for them.. A high-level description is as follows:
- Recruit skillset-based volunteers by sharing the job description on social media and other platforms
- Enhance the Army of Volunteers for Earth onboarding experience through participating in the development of new resources that facilitate access to information and ease of application
- Welcome and acknowledge new applicants
- Ensure onboarding task completion is tracked in the system and run onboarding report regularly and share outstanding tasks to be completed
- Participate in Team meetings to understand volunteers’ workload. Help in prioritizing activities for volunteers based on their schedule and hours of devotion
- Provide alternate ways for volunteers to handle the weekly and monthly tasks
We could also use help in developing new ways of recruiting volunteers.
As you may know, governments and large companies are not making the changes rapidly enough to solve the climate crisis. Humanity is falling behind in this fight.
On the other hand, there are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of small companies that have novel technologies that can contribute to the solution.
We believe that our volunteers can provide the support to these technology companies so that they can become successful more quickly.
However, our volunteers also need support that will make them successful in carrying out their tasks.
This is why we need you, a successful HR professional, to help develop our volunteer policies.
This position is unpaid.

We are working to reduce the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere that are causing the Earth's temperature to increase. We are also working on methods of extracting the current high levels of these gases.
