Visitor Center Front Desk Volunteer (year round)

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Biscayne National Park's Volunteers In Parks program is looking for energetic individuals to help us at the front desk at the Dante Fascell Visitor Center. We have several morning (9a-1p) and afternoon (1p-5p) shifts available throughout the week. We look for volunteers who enjoy teaching others and can spend time thoughtfully answering visitor questions. This position is geared towards individuals over the age of 18 who are able to commit to at least six months of volunteer work so local applicants are preferred. This position can be very high paced on busy days.


Some of the tasks for this position will include

  • Welcoming visitors
  • Answering visitor questions
  • Playing park films and answer park phone
  • Working with park staff to provide excellent customer service

We are looking for self starters, individuals who are punctual, dependable, and good communicators (spoken and written). Bilingual is helpful but not necessary for this position. CPR/First Aid training also helpful but not required. We will provide training and a uniform (shirt and hat) for the position. There is no housing available.


Biscayne follows CDC covid guidance.
