  • 1 person is interested

The Lockwood Animal Rescue Center (LARC) is a unique animal sanctuary that rescues and provide permanent homes for wolves, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, skunks, and other animals and offer a therapeutic environment for disabled combat veterans through employment and job skill development caring for the rescued animals. Located in the mountains about an hour north of northern Los Angeles, LARC’s forested 20-acre facility with a 2000+ acre buffer offers sanctuary for animals rescued from situations of abuse and neglect and suffer from trauma just as do many of the veterans here. We promote inter-species healing through our Wolves and Warriors program (formerly on Animal Planet).

1- Climate Campaign Manager
2- Grant writer with several years experience of achieving grant success

About LOCKWOOD ANIMAL RESCUE CENTER LARC

Location:

PO BOX 1510, FRAZIER PARK, CA 93225, US

Mission Statement

Lockwood Animal Rescue Center (LARC ) offers permanent sanctuary to rescued wolves, wolfdogs, foxes, coyotes, raccoons, skunks, parrots, pigs, horses, and dogs. We work closely with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to help non-releasable wildlife as well. LARC is also a work therapy program for disabled veterans with war-related trauma and they work with the similarly traumatized, rescued animals who reside at our sanctuary. The unique relationship that develops is immensely therapeutic for both species. We promote inter-species healing through our Wolves and Warriors program and provide an opportunity to heal and grow in this unique, back-to-nature environment in the Los Padres National Forest in the Ventura County mountains.

Description

LARC is seeking volunteers who can help with our Climate Campaign doing stream and trail restoration, wildfire prevention, and recycling and composting projects.

Camping in this unique mountain sanctuary is available while volunteering.
