About Live2Create

Live2Create Foundation Network, Incorporated (hereafter Live2Create) is a faith-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to promote the social, emotional, cultural, economic, and spiritual wellbeing of Black students ages 12-22 using the arts. It’s generally recognized that the arts play a major role in the development of students' wellbeing and offer a safe place for them to express themselves freely, build confidence and esteem, and tackle various social and life situations without judgment.

Live2Create implements a personal identity development program (EASEL(r)) to bring awareness of mental health challenges and crucial learning recovery for Black students across the Greater Atlanta community. Using the 40 Developmental Assets(r), created by the Search Institute, and our Identity Formation Framework (IFF Model)(r) we address the needs of black students in a safe environment conducive for their unique personal growth and development. Our programs focus on 6 core areas of development: Identity (I), Belief (Can), Capability (Do), Behavior (It), Environment (Here), and Spirituality (Purpose) resulting in increased social and emotional wellbeing, academic scores and attendance, graduation rates and college admission, confidence and self-esteem, and a strong sense of personal identity and motivation to accomplish life goals.

At Live2Create, we believe the arts in and of itself are therapeutic. We also believe that faith is fuel for survival and that something internally happens when you engage in the creative process, whether that’s healing, understanding, acceptance, freedom, or just simply experiencing who you are and who you were created to be.

Vision

Our vision is a world where racial disparities and achievement gaps no longer exist for Black students.

Mission

Our mission is to raise awareness about Black mental health and increase the social and emotional wellbeing of Black students ages 12-22 using the arts and Christian principles.

Our Core Values (I. L.A.C.E. U.P.):

Founded on Christian principles, our core values are used as a guide to manage ourselves and interpersonal relationships with others. These core values include:

  • Integrity: We are honest and transparent in our decisions and actions. We follow through with commitments and conduct ourselves in ways that are true to Christian principles.
  • Leadership:. We strive to build a stronger Black community with the collective benefit of advancing equity.
  • We lead by example and inspire social and emotional change through our behavior. We take full responsibility for developing the leadership potential of our youth, members, and partners.
  • Accountability: We strive to live out Christian values and act on them. Responsibility is an ethical theory, in which individuals are accountable for fulfilling their purpose; the actions of an individual must benefit the makeup of their entire being.
  • Creativity: Creativity is a gift from God. It’s therapeutic and the creative process is a growth producing experience. It is an essential component of vibrant communities and what makes us unique; therefore we use our creativity to glorify God.
  • Excellence: We deliver the highest quality performance in everything we do. We are not shaped by the labels of society and strive for excellence. Through self, internal, and external assessments, we seek to continuously improve.
  • Understanding: We are empathetically aware and forgiving of one another and the world we live in, walking in love and truth together to accomplish one mission and vision.
  • Perseverance: We are building a stronger Black community with the collective benefit of advancing equity. We exhibit self-control and face adversity head on. Our faith is the cornerstone for which we stand; we use the mind, body, soul and spirit to overcome challenges we face.
