The Treasure Island Museum is seeking volunteers to assist staff members with the stewardship, organization, and digitization of our collection of historical items. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with our Collection Manager to ensure donated items are properly handled, housed, and entered into our database. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to assist with the digitization of items, preparations for exhibits, and archival research.

We welcome any responsible volunteers with an interest in history, museums, and archives! No experience is required, though we will set up a meeting to ensure this volunteer position is a good fit.

Mission Statement

Preserve the island’s Pacific-themed heritage. Inform residents and visitors of the island’s historical relevance to today’s issues and tomorrow’s concerns. Invest in the island’s future through educational programs and community partnerships. Inspire a new generation with the Bay Area’s spirit of ingenuity embodied by Treasure Island.

Description

Guardian of the island's history for over 40 years, the nonprofit Treasure Island Museum is working to fund the ongoing renovation and programming for the return of the new, full Treasure Island Museum. We currently have an archival collection relating to Treasure Island history and offer interim exhibitions, public lectures, tours and online content.
