Mission Statement

At Compassus Hospice, our mission is to preserve each patient’s dignity while removing the fear associated with dying through pain management, emotional and spiritual support. Our service area includes Newburyport down to Revere, Ayer, Westford, Lowell, Haverhill, Salem, Malden, Medford, Stoneham, Peabody, Andover/N. Andover, Chelmsford, Wilmington and Billerica to name just some of the towns.

Compassus Hospice volunteers play a vital role in carrying out our mission to preserve each patient’s dignity while removing the fear associated with dying. Individuals who are 18 and older who are willing to share one to four hours per week are encouraged to apply to our program. Serving as a volunteer will enrich your own life in ways you can’t begin to imagine.

No previous experience in the medical field is necessary, and you will be prepared for your role with a free, comprehensive training program. This training will help you learn how to provide emotional support, companionship and respite care to patients and families.
