A Fun Event that allows teens and volunteers to use their creativity to build and then defend a master piece.
Cardboard fort night is an event where teen will collaborate together with duct tape, markers, streamers, and what not to build the most epic cardboard fort they can imagine. After the fort is built, the teens will be divided into two teams: invaders and defenders. The defenders are preventing the fort from being destroyed and the invaders are attempting to destroy the fort -- all the while playing nerf tag. At the end of the night, we gather the cardboard and recycle it... respectfully.
BEFORE THE EVENT: we need to gather as much cardboard as possible -- furniture stores, electronic stores, even liquor stores are good places to try. We need HUGE pieces and small, compact pieces. This will occur before the 19th Volunteer needs -- cardboard gatherers and transporters (pick up truck, etc), those comfortable wielding a box cutter, some fort designers, and crowd managers to help make sure everyone is being treated respectfully during the nerf war. and a clean up crew, of course

Description
TreeHouse is a faith-based ministry that has been serving teens since 1984 helping them build relationships and resiliency rooted in living hope. We’re based in Minnesota, but we have sites across the country. Each of our sites host programs that give teens a safe space to find support and belonging. Through mentorships, retreats, and other off-site activities, teens have the opportunity to build even deeper relationships with peers and caring adults.
